Developing spirit portraiture is not simply about natural talent or your mediumistic connection. Becoming a skilled Spirit Portrait Artist means learning to feel the communicator more strongly, see them more clearly, and train your hand to respond with increasing confidence and accuracy to that feeling or vision.
This hands-on experience is designed to hone your eye-to-hand coordination as you sketch. At the start of each class, you will be given a specific challenge to complete within your group.
As a demonstrating spirit artist, I have worked in front of audiences of over 100 people, sometimes using one hand, both hands, or even with my eyes closed. To achieve this, my mediumistic link to spirit must be strong, my surrender to the process absolute, and my foundational drawing skills well-developed. Bringing these three elements together is a lifelong lesson.
You will never attend just one mediumship class and have it all figured out; building your unique style takes years of workshops, mentorships, and learning from various tutors. The same applies to spirit face drawings. You won’t achieve perfection in a day, but you can always strive to be better than you were last year. This is why I consistently offer new courses and workshops to give you fresh, confidence-building ways to practice.

WHAT I'VE DISCOVERED
OVER THE LAST TWO DECADES OF TEACHING
Students want to do well! They want to draw to the best of their ability! They want to make an impact for the Spirit world. However, in their beautiful need to be of service, some rush the process and far too often begin teaching others too early or demonstrating publicly. I think of this as a student who has spent six weeks in a circle, shown some success, and is now starting to demonstrate publicly or begin their own teaching class.
While they will have some success and support from those who say well done, I find that those who attend my teaching learn the importance of cultivating their skill to a level where, when showcasing it to the world, they stand with full confidence. However, for those who are showing their skills, at least they have the confidence to do so, as some, even with experience, are shy to show the world.
As a working professional spirit artist, teacher, medium, speaker, and author, I realise that after teaching many hundreds of students interested in spirit art over the last 15 years, there are three distinct aspects of teaching that help a budding Spirit Artist develop.

Too often, I see students struggling with their portraits, as they all look like the same person, and some are eager to advertise their portraits publicly before nurturing their skills behind the scenes. This is why I offer these Portrait Practice Clubs from time to time to support students working outside 'mediumship' to focus solely on the practice of drawing real faces in real time, with real people and others who are interested in the same subject.
I often visit Facebook, and some artists keep reusing the same image format. I have been able to help my students draw faces that look individual and life-like.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE ONE-MONTH PORTRAIT PRACTICE CLUB?
Each week I'll introduce a new portrait challenge before dividing everyone into small breakout groups, where you'll spend around an hour drawing together and encouraging one another.

Each person should have around 2 - 4 drawings by the end of the session, but this depends on numbers.

The weekly challenges will vary, keeping every session fresh and helping you develop a range of artistic skills.

Some activities may involve drawing another member of your group from life, whilst others may encourage you to use your imagination, observation, creativity or even a little humour.

From time to time, I may also include Spirit-inspired portrait exercises designed to develop both your artistic and intuitive awareness. Other times, I may introduce you to other media, not just pencil. By the end of the month, your speed drawing ability should have increased. If you and the majority have improved by the end of the month and would like to continue this roll-on into the next month, we can!
Although I won't reveal each week's challenge in advance (that's part of the fun!).
At the end of each session, we'll come back together as a group to celebrate your work. Sharing your drawings is always encouraged, but never compulsory. Classes are not recorded to allow students to practice freely, speak freely without the fear of being recorded..
